I find my tastes in books to be ever evolving. I'm constantly
reminded that a good writer can make any subject compelling. Last year my interests revolved around economics and finance. I very much enjoyed Michael Lewis's The Big Short and to a lesser extent Niall Ferguson's The Ascent of Money. Other non-fiction books that quickly became favorites include Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything and Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe. This year I've rediscovered the joy of good fantasy and sci-fi. George RR Martin, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, and Suzanne Collins are all recent reads I'm excited to recommend.
