I joined Broadway Books just in time for the Harry Potter 5 release party and have been enchanted by the bookstore ever since. My current favorite book is Birds of Oregon -- so much info in one cover -- and Ann Patchett's State of Wonder. My daughters, now 11, devoured the Hunger Games series and praised The Emerald Atlas. Most recent reads include Swamplandia (Karen Russell), My New American Life (Francine Prose), and The Warmth of Other Suns (Isabel Wilkerson). My cats Annabelle and General Bonkers are well above average.
