Call us crazy, but we love the idea of celebrating independent bookstores! Frankly, we think every day should be Independent Bookstore Day, but for now we look forward to taking part in this annual day of celebration.
We hope you can join us on Saturday, April 27th, as we join indie bookstores across the country in celebrating our independence and our vital role in the community. Now more than ever, bookstores can offer sanctuary, a place of learning, a place to gather, and a place of joy.
As in previous years, many publishers have created unique bookish items for sale just on this day. And we have very cool Indie Bookstore Day tote bags that you can get free with minimum purchase. Supplies of these items are limited, so come early!
But don't worry: even if you miss out on these items you can still take advantage of our very special Independent Bookstore Day sale: 20% off any hardcover books in the store -- novels, biographies, cookbooks, childrens' picture books -- anything you want!!!

We're thrilled to welcome some special guests to the store at from 11 to 12: Chelsea Cain will be here to sign copies of Man-Eaters, Volume 1, a new book that collects Issues 1 - 4 of the Man-Eaters comic in a bound book! Chelsea -- who by the way is a HOOT -- will be joined by her Man-Eater co-conspirators Stella Greenvoss, Eliza Mohan, Emily Powell, and Lia Miternique. You just never know what will transpire when Chelsea is in the house, so be sure not to miss this!
Our very own Chris Miller will be performing music in the afternoon (about 1 to 3), and we'll have yummy cupcakes (Yay, St. Cupcake!) to keep you going all day long!
