Judith Barrington, Long Love: New and Selected Poems
On Tuesday, June 12th, at 7 pm, we celebrate the launch of Long Love, the newest collection of poems from award-winning poet, memoirist, and creative writing teacher Judith Barrington. The book is published by Salmon Poetry in Ireland.
Barrington was born in Brighton, England, and moved to the United States in 1976. Although she has made her home in Portland since then, she spends time each year in Europe doing readings and workshops. She is the author of five poetry collections, two poetry chapbooks, a prizewinning memoir, and a text on writing literary memoir. Her most recent poetry collection is The Conversation. Over the past thirty years she has taught creative writing at various universities and at many summer writing workshops including the Port Townsend Writers' Conference, Haystack, Split Rock, Fishtrap, the Ashland Writing Conference, the Hassayampa Writers' Conference, Writers @ Work, and Flight of the Mind, as well as at programs in England.
Her newest collection, Long Love: New and Selected Poems, is a selection of poems from all of her previous books, as well as a section of new poems, previously unpublished in book form.
