National Independent Bookstore Day

National Independent Bookstore Day!!!

Call us crazy, but we love the idea of celebrating independent bookstores! Frankly, we think every day should be Independent Bookstore Day, but for now we look forward to taking part in Saturday's national day of celebration.

We hope you can join us on Saturday, April 29th, as we join more than 450 indie bookstores across the country in celebrating our independence and our vital role in the community. Now more than ever, bookstores can offer sanctuary, a place of learning, a place to gather, and a place of joy.

As in previous years, many publishers have created unique items for sale just on this day, and we are thrilled to offer some select books, posters, and adorable bookish onesies. Supplies of these items are very limited, so come early!

But don't worry, if you miss out on these items you can still take advantage of our special Independent Bookstore Day sale: Take 20% off any one item in the store. (And we'll apply it to your most expensive purchase.)

And there's more! Spend $75 or more and you can spin the Magic Lottery Wheel of Giddiness for special prizes, including book bling, Broadway Books gift certificates, and Advance Reading Copies.

Our very own Chris Miller will be performing music during the middle of the day, and we'll have yummy cookies to keep you going all day long!

Sign up for an account at Libro.FM prior to Independent Bookstore Day and you'll be able to download free digital audiobooks on that day, including The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck and A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again by David Foster Wallace.

Please join us for this party to celebrate
 independent bookstores across the nation!

"Consumers control the marketplace by deciding where to spend their money. If what a bookstore offers matters to you, then shop at a bookstore. If you feel that the experience of reading a book is valuable, then read the book. This is how we change the world: we grab hold of it. We change ourselves." (Ann Patchett, bestselling author and co-owner of Parnassus Books )
